本机由机座、机头、减速箱、工作台、切角刀、拖板等零部件组成。

试车Test run在机器安装好后，在接通电源试车，试车前应将各注油孔、滑动面、，注入润滑油，开机前用手扳动偏心轮(图(2)中3)，使切刀做一、两次循环运动，检查机器是否正常，电机转动方向应与偏心轮上箭头所指方向相同，否则裁切时会导致机器非正常损坏。可打开机器左侧小门，观察飞轮转向（图（2）中11）是否与偏心轮上箭头所指方向一致。

工作时，先根据待切工件的大小，通过左右横向螺杆、横向定位滑块调好两个燕尾导向座的距离，将工件放到工作台上，并使后边沿靠到纵向定位块的前面，再由横向定位滑块将工件的横向锁定。

启动电机通减速轮组带动大飞轮、偏心轮转动，当偏心轮的大半径向下转动时，连杆拉动下横梁、导柱、上横梁向下运动，上横梁通过切刀撑杆推动切刀总成沿燕尾导向座下滑动对工件切割。切割完成后恰好偏心轮的大半径向上转动，连杆推动下横梁、导柱、上横梁向上运动，上横梁通过切刀撑杆拉动切刀总成沿燕尾导向座上滑动复位。
